December 7, 2010 – Wonders of the Younger by Plain White T’s is Released Through Hollywood Records

“We may only have tonight, but till the morning sun you’re mine, all mine.”

On December 7, 2010, the sixth studio album by rock band Plain White T’s, Wonders of the Younger, was released through Hollywood Records. The album featured two promotional singles: “Rhythm of Love” and “Boomerang;” the former peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 38. The album itself received mixed reviews and peaked on two charts: Top Rock Albums (number 23) and U.S. Billboard 200 (number 149).

December 6, 2012 – The Attraction Under the Sea: Voyage of the Little Mermaid Opens in Walt Disney World

“Descend below the waves – without ever getting wet – for a whimsical musical adventure awash with scenes from the animated classic.”

On December 6, 2012, the dark-ride attraction Under the Sea: Voyage of the Little Mermaid opened in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park as part of the New Fantasyland expansion. Guests board a clamshell and take a journey through the story of The Little Mermaid, complete with music and dancing audio-animatronic figures. The attraction was also given an interactive queue area, where guests need to find objects to help Scuttle. This attraction is similar to The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure in Disney California Adventure park.

December 1, 2012 – The Lion King Pop-Up Exhibit Opens in New York City

On December 1, 2012, Disney Theatrical Group opened a special immersive “pop-up” exhibition to celebrate the Broadway smash production of The Lion King, known as “Inside the Lion King.” Considered the first of its kind, the exhibit gave travelers a chance to see over 100 items relevant to the creation of the show, ranging from shadow puppets to props, with the ability to see details that aren’t readily noticed from the theater seats. The exhibit also includes interactive elements, such as touch screen presentations of concept sketches and models, and photograph opportunities with set pieces.

November 30, 2010 – Jennifer Grey and Kyle Massey Celebrate Launch of Epic Mickey Game

“The ballroom posed some difficult challenges for Jennifer, but similar to Mickey, she rose above them and came out a hero.”

On November 30, 2010, recent Dancing with the Stars contestants Kyle Massey and winner Jennifer Grey were on hand to celebrate the release of the new Epic Mickey video game at the Disney Store in Times Square. The pair were on hand when the store opened at 7:00 AM to meet fans for a handshake and photo, and provide copies of the new game. Massey is known as a Disney Channel star, having worked on popular shows such as That’s So Raven and Corey in the House. Grey is an actress, known for her roles in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Dirty Dancing. Guests were also able to meet game designer Warren Spector, and those that waited in the early hours were kept warm with special Mickey Mouse gloves and ears, as well as given breakfast from Epic Mickey-themed food trucks.

November 26, 2010 – Disney Store Holds Magical Friday Sales

“It’s a great way to save and put a little Disney Magic on the tree and under the tree this holiday season.”

On November 26, 2010, the Disney Store prepared for its own version of Black Friday, known as Magical Friday. This sale was not only limited to the physical Disney stores, but also applied to Disney Theme Park item sales on the online Disney Parks stores. Disney offered several incentives for guests, including 20% off all Disney Theme Park favorite items, including several Dooney & Bourke purses made especially for Disney Parks. Over 130 physical Disney Store locations were open at midnight as part of this Magical Friday event.

November 22, 2016 – The Restaurant Camp Woodchuck Kitchen Opens in Tokyo Disneyland

On November 22, 2016, the quick service restaurant Camp Woodchuck Kitchen opened in Tokyo Disneyland’s Westernland area. The name is based on the Junior Woodchuck group of which Donald Duck’s nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie were members, and is themed like an American summer camp; the restaurant is also located where guests are able to watch the canoes on the Rivers of America. The restaurant’s menu features waffle sandwiches, smoked turkey legs, and hot ginger lemonade.

November 20, 2017 – The Animated Series Big Hero 6: The Series Premieres on Disney X D

“We didn’t set out to be superheroes, but sometimes life doesn’t go the way you planned.”

On November 20, 2017, the animated series Big Hero 6: The Series premiered on Disney X D. The series is based on, and follows, the events of the animated feature film Big Hero 6, and features a majority of the cast reprising their roles, as well as a switch from computer animation to traditional hand-drawn animation. This first episode was a 47-minute episode, entitled “Baymax Returns,” reintroducing the characters to the audience, and introducing a new villain: Obake. This was the only episode to exclusively air on Disney X D, as the program was moved to Disney Channel in 2018 for its formal premiere. The series stars Ryan Potter as Hiro, Scott Adsit as Baymax, Jamie Chung as Go Go, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, Khary Payton as Wasabi, Brooks Wheelan as Fred, and Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass.

November 18, 2016 – The Restaurant PizzeRizzo Opens in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

“Stop on by for pizza, a meatball sub or antipasto salad at this friendly neighborhood joint run by Rizzo, the wise-cracking Muppet.”

On November 18, 2016, the quick-service restaurant PizzeRizzo opened in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios park. Taking the place of the Pizza Planet Arcade, the restaurant is designed like a New York City pizzeria with a Muppet theme; the proprietor of the restaurant is Muppet character Rizzo the Rat. The menu includes various kinds of single-serve pizzas, a meatball sub, and an antipasto salad.

November 13, 2012 -The Cast of Newsies Performs on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars: All Stars

“Wrongs will be righted, if we’re united, let us seize the day!”

On November 13, 2012, the cast of the Broadway musical Newsies performed the song “Seize the Day” on the hit ABC competition show Dancing with the Stars: All Stars. Based on the 1992 film, the Broadway musical officially premiered on March 29, 2012; this was the third time the cast of a Disney musical performed on the television program. The cast at the time of filming this episode featured Corey Cott as Jack Kelley, Ben Fankhauser as Davey, and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie.

November 10, 2016 – Frozen: A Musical Spectacular Kicks Off on Disney Cruise Line

“You’ll go home wishing you had a happy snowman as your best friend.”

On November 10, 2016, the live-action stage show Frozen: A Musical Spectacular began performances on the Disney Cruise Line ship the Disney Wonder. Adapted from the hit animated feature Frozen, the stage show was a Broadway-caliber production that featured most of the songs from the film, as well as dynamic puppetry, special effects, and transformative scenery. This production fed into the idea that Frozen would work as a Broadway musical; however, as of 2018, this production is still running on the Disney Wonder.
