On September 14, 1998, the specialty store Sweet Spells opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park, located in Walt Disney World. The store sells a variety of sweet treats, including rice krispie treats, fudge, and gourmet apples. The store also sells specialty treats for various holiday seasons, particularly Halloween and Christmas.

September 8, 2012 – The Disney Baby Store Opens in Glendale, California

On September 8, 2012, the first Disney Baby store opened in Glendale, California. Located right near Walt Disney Imagineering, the store focuses on children ranging from newborn to two-years-old, with character merchandise ranging from popular Pixar films, to Disney Princesses, to classic Disney characters. A special ceremony was held for the store’s grand opening, featuring celebrity appearances, Disney-themed snacks for babies, and a concert by the Blue Sky Riders.

September 7, 1984 – The Brass Bazaar Opens in Epcot’s Morocco Pavilion

On September 7, 1984, the Brass Bazaar opened in the Morocco Pavilion, located in Epcot’s World Showcase. The shop features a variety of cookware and glassware from Morocco, mostly made of brass and ceramic. The shop also features delicacies from Morocco, including wine, coffee, spices, and candies.

September 2, 1987 – The Frontierland Shop Westward Ho Trading Co. Opens in Disneyland

“Wheel your wagon over to this rustic Frontierland trading post where pins are WANTED!”

On September 2, 1987, the specialty store Westward Ho Trading Co. opened in Disneyland’s Frontierland. Replacing the former Frontier Trading Post, this store caters to Disney pin collectors, selling a variety of pins, ranging from general to limited edition, as well as pin accessories, Vinylmation, and other park collectibles.

July 27, 2014 – The Yankee Trader Store in Walt Disney World Closes

On July 27, 2014, the Magic Kingdom Park store The Yankee Trader closed its doors. Located in Liberty Square, the store specialized in supplies for the kitchen, including pot holders, Disney character-shaped pasta, and glassware. The store was replaced by Memento Mori, a shop dedicated to the nearby attraction The Haunted Mansion.

July 24, 1966 – The Shop Cristal d’Orleans Opens in Disneyland

On July 24, 1966, the glassware store Cristal d’Orleans opened in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square. The store sells specialty glassware, including tiaras, figurines, and cups, and is sponsored by the Arribas Brothers, who have their special glass pieces featured in several Disney parks.

July 19, 2002 – The Specialty Store Once Upon a Toy Opens in Downtown Disney

On July 19, 2002, the specialty store Once Upon a Toy opened in Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney Marketplace. The 16,000-square-foot store specializes in Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars toys, ranging from plush to board games. The store also serves as where Duffy the Bear originated.
