August 20, 2018 – The Quick Service Restaurant Dockside Diner Opens in Tokyo DisneySea

On August 20, 2018, the quick service restaurant Dockside Diner opened in Tokyo DisneySea. Located in the American Waterfront area of the park, the restaurant features a variety of dishes ranging from roast beef sandwiches, to fried chicken and waffles.

July 21, 1992 – The Boiler Room Barbecue Opens in Tokyo Disneyland

On July 21, 1992, the restaurant Boiler Room Barbecue opened in Tokyo Disneyland’s Adventureland. A quick-service snack counter, the restaurant originally featured, as its namesake suggests, barbecue-related foods; the restaurant was renamed Boiler Room Bites in 2003, and given a new menu. Boiler Room Bites features quick serve dishes such as shaved ice in several flavors, pork bao, and a variety of drinks.

July 16, 2005 – The Wishes Fireworks Show Begins in Disneyland Paris

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Disneyland Park proudly presents, Wishes!”

On July 16, 2005, the Wishes fireworks show kicked off in Disneyland Paris. Based on the show from Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the Disneyland Paris version of the nighttime show ran at 11:15pm every evening, projecting images on Sleeping Beauty Castle. The show ran every summer season until it was replaced in 2008 with The Enchanted Fireworks.

July 14, 2006 – The Musical Show Big Band Beat Opens in Tokyo DisneySea

“Enjoy the top class singers, the unforgettable dancing by the Disney Friends and more. And you’ll be wowed when Mickey Mouse hits the drums!”

On July 14, 2006, the live musical show Big Band Beat opened in Tokyo DisneySea’s Broadway Music Theater. Replacing the show Encore!, Big Band Beat was created to celebrate the park’s 15th anniversary, and features a live big bang performing jazz standards such as “It Don’t Mean a Thing” and “Take the A-Train.” Accompanying the band are dancers, singers, and appearances by several Disney characters.

July 13, 2006 – The Attraction Stitch Encounter Opens in Hong Kong Disneyland

“Here you get to talk to the blue, mischievous alien, and you’re sure to get a good laugh!”

On July 13, 2006, the interactive attraction Stitch Encounter opened in Hong Kong Disneyland. Similar to the attraction Turtle Talk with Crush, guests can video chat with Stitch from the animated feature film Lilo & Stitch, communicating with guests through jokes and games. This was the first version of the attraction to open; similar attractions opened Disneyland Paris’ Walt Disney Studios Park and Shanghai Disneyland. The original Hong Kong Disneyland attraction closed on May 2, 2016.

June 16, 2016 – Be Our Guest Boutique Opens in Shanghai Disney

“Put our service to the test!”

On June 16, 2016, the themed store Be Our Guest Boutique opened in Shanghai Disney’s Fantasyland area. Taking its design cues from the animated feature Beauty and the Beast, the store sells various home décor pieces, collectibles, and other princess-themed toys and costumes for children.

June 14, 1996 – The Pocahontas Indian Village Play Area Opens in Disneyland Paris

“Head for the shadow of Thunder Mesa at Pocahontas Indian Village and set your sights on what lies just around the river bend.”

On June 14, 1996, the Frontierland play area Pocahontas Indian Village opened in Disneyland Paris. Based on the animated feature film Pocahontas, young guests can climb, swing, and explore the play area “based on a traditional Native American settlement,” which replaced the Indian Canoes dock.

June 9, 2007 – Crush’s Coaster Attraction Opens in Disneyland Paris

“Spin, dive and fight against the current as you get swept up in a whirlpool of adventure.”

On June 9, 2007, the attraction Crush’s Coaster opened in the Toon Studio area of Disneyland Paris. Based on the Pixar film Finding Nemo, guests board a turtle shell before diving into the ocean and reliving the best parts of the film, including the journey through the East Australian Current. Guests also have the opportunity to play a game on their phones while waiting in the queue, where they must catch starfish and avoid obstacles.

June 6, 1993 – Les Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin Attraction Opens in Disneyland Paris

On June 6, 1993, the attraction Les Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin opened in Disneyland Paris’ Fantasyland. The attraction was a Ferris wheel that was inspired by the windmill from the Disney short film The Old Mill. The attraction was closed a few years later due to low interest among guests, but the structure still remains in the park.

May 17, 2013 – The Archive Shop Opens in Hong Kong Disneyland

“Curate a collection of Lord Henry’s most mysterious curiosities before your enchanting adventure comes to a close!”

On May 17, 2013, the Archive Shop opened in Hong Kong Disneyland’s Mystic Point area. The shop mainly deals in souvenirs from Mystic Point, including plush figures of Albert, the young monkey companion of Lord Henry. The shop also features luggage clothing, and specialty pins.
