August 5, 2010 – The Restaurant Via Napoli Opens in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion
“Take a culinary tour of Southern Italy at the family-friendly restaurant and pizzeria at Epcot.”
On August 5, 2010, the restaurant Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria opened in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion, located in the World Showcase. The restaurant, operated by the Patina Restaurant Group, offers authentic Southern Italy cuisine, ranging from Neapolitan pizza to Linguine allo Scoglio, along with Italian desserts such as Zeppole di Caterina. The pizzas keep their authenticity with ingredients flown in from Italy, and water for the pizza being taken from a source within the United States that matches the alkaline found in Naples. The restaurant’s design is noted for the three wood-burning pizza ovens, made to represent the three active volcanoes in Italy: Etna, Vesuvius, and Stromboli.
