July 11, 2008 – Lea Salonga Performs at Disney Concert Hall

On July 11, 2008, singer, actress, and Disney Legend Lea Salonga performed a solo concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. Salonga, an acclaimed veteran of the Broadway stage, performed as a singer in Disney animated feature films Mulan and Aladdin; she performed these songs, along with a variety of songs from her Broadway performances and Tagalog favorites, during this concert. This one-night-only concert, much like her debut at Carnegie Hall, was a sold-out show.

October 20, 2009 – LA Phil Presents the Disney Symphonic Legacy is Held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall

On October 20, 2009, a special concert entitled LA Phil Presents the Disney Symphonic Legacy was held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. This was the first time since the hall opened in 2003 that it has had a program consisting of solely Disney music. The program was conducted by John Mauceri, and featured not only symphonic music, but live narration, vocal accompaniment, and rarely seen drawings and concept art from the Disney vault; the program also boasted the premiere of the symphonic retelling of Disney’s timeless classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

July 22, 2006 – Radio Disney Holds 10th Birthday Concert

On July 22, 2006, Radio Disney held a special 10th birthday concert at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, California. The concert featured a mix of Hollywood Records recording artists and Radio Disney staples, including Jesse McCartney, Bowling for Soup, the Cheetah Girls, Aly & AJ, and Everlife. The concert was also broadcast live on the Radio Disney website. A second similar celebration was held in Dallas, Texas a few months later.

October 28, 2009 – Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers Perform at the Walt Disney Concert Hall

On October 28, 2009, Disney Legend, songwriter, and comedian Steve Martin performed with the Steep Canyon Rangers at a sold-out show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Martin was promoting his new album The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo, which had reached the top of the Bluegrass Album charts. Martin, straddling the line between stand-up routine and banjo concert, entertained the crowd with his own compositions and a few bluegrass standards. Martin was also joined by fellow banjo player and songwriter Abigail Washburn for a 40-minute set.
