December 2, 2002 – The Theme Song for The Santa Clause 2, “Santa Claus Lane,” is Released

On December 2, 2002, the promotional single for the live-action feature film The Santa Clause 2, “Santa Claus Lane,” was released through Buena Vista Records. The single was the second single from Disney Channel star Hilary Duff’s debut album, Santa Claus Lane, a collection of Christmas songs. Duff also promoted the single on Disney Channel, particularly the Movie Surfers television program, which was also promoting the Tim Allen film. The single was released with the album version and two mixes: the North Pole Mix, and the Megamix.

August 12, 2008 – The Demi Lovato Single “Get Back” is Released

On August 12, 2008, the first single from the Demi Lovato album Don’t Forget, titled “Get Back,” was released in digital format. It was written by Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, and produced by the Jonas Brothers and John Fields. An edited version of the song for Radio Disney was also released for digital download, and a music video of the single was released on August 22. The single spent six weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, peaking at number 43; the song would also chart on the Canadian Hot 100 (peaking at 93) and the Australian ARIA Hitseekers chart (peaking at 10). The song received positive reviews from critics, with most noting that it sounded like a catchy early ’80s track.

May 12, 2007 – The Aly & AJ Single “Potential Breakup Song” is Released to Radio Disney

On May 12, 2007, Hollywood Records artists Aly & AJ released their new single “Potential Breakup Song” was released on Radio Disney. This was the first single from the 2007 album Insomniatic. The lyrics in the Radio Disney version of the song are altered from the original single version, changing “Without me you’re gonna die” to “Without me you’re gonna cry,” as well as adding the word “to” between “gettin’ me” in the chorus. The song was released to mainstream airwaves on June 26, as well as being released for digital download. It peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and was certified platinum by the RIAA.
