On September 6, 2005, it was announced that EMI Music and the Walt Disney Company’s Buena Vista Music Group had signed an exclusive agreement that allowed EMI to represent and promote Disney’s music offerings – including Hollywood Records, Walt Disney Records, Lyric Street Records, and Mammoth Records – within the UK, Continental Europe, South Africa, and the Middle East. This catalogue was vast, featuring Disney’s 75-year music history through its films, as well as upcoming artists under the newer labels, such as Jesse McCartney and Rascal Flatts.
